A small step for and expert - a huge potential for the General Statistics Office of Vietnam
The first version of a prototype of an integrated student register is in place in Vietnam!

During an intense mission in Hanoi, experts from Statistics Denmark succeeded in implementing a first draft version of the future Vietnamese student register based on external micro data linked to the Vietnamese national ID. All with due respect to data security issues. The implementation included development of supporting registers and design of data transmission format, as well as coding in R for data cleaning, data integration and basic test indicators. Next challenge is to get access to additional test data for further improvement of the prototype.
The mission is a part of the Strategic Sector cooperation project which is running from 2022-2024 financed by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The objective of the project is to support Vietnam’s ongoing efforts to improve the quality of official statistics.
