Proportion of women aged 15–49 years who make their own informed decisions regarding sexual relations, contraceptive use and reproductive health care
Definition: All citizens in Denmark are entitled to receive health and sex education in primary school. However, health and sexual education is not mandatory in teacher education or youth education. Through free and equal access to the doctor, information on sexual relationships, use of contraception and reproductive health services such as abortion can also be obtained. In principle, all girls and women take their own informed choices regardless of social and economic background, but some subgroups of women might experience barriers.
