How do we know if we are on track? Who checks it - consistently, comparably, and reliably?

Statisticians compile the Environmental Economic Accounts enabling us to see how our environment and economy interact.
The accounts - nicknamed the Green National Accounts - allow decision makers to have a solid basis for their next decisions. They also enable citizens to follow progress, and ensure that all countries can compare progress - or the opposite - using the same standards.
