17.18.3

Number of countries that have national statistical legislation that complies with the Fundamental Principles of Official Statistics

Definition

The indicator addresses the presence of national legislation that ensures that the fundamental principles of official statistics are observed in the national statistics office (Statistics Denmark). Statistics Denmark follows recommendations regarding the organisation and management of quality given in the Code of Practice for European statistics (Code of Practice, CoP). The CoP is based on the UN's ten principles for statistics.

Denmark therefore meets the criteria for this indicator, cf. the UN's homepage on SDG data.
