    Definition

    Approximately 80–100 imported cases of malaria are reported annually in Denmark. The vast majority are due to Plasmodium falciparum infection in travellers returning from sub-Saharan Africa, corresponding to an annual incidence of approximately 1,3-1,7 case per 100,000 population.
