Research and development in the public sector

These statistics are published yearly in a Danish press release, at the same time as the tables are updated in the StatBank. In the StatBank, these statistics can be found under the subject Research and development. For further information, go to the subject page.

Release calendar

The publication date appears in the release calendar. The date is confirmed in the weeks before.

The Release Calender can be accessed on our English website: Release Calender.

User access

Statistics are always published at 8:00 a.m. at the day announced in the release calendar. No one outside of Statistics Denmark can access the statistics before they are published.

News release

These statistics are published yearly in a Danish press release.

Publications

Results of the statistics are published in an annual publication regarding innovation and research: Forskning, udvikling og innovation (in Danish only).

On-line database

These statistics are published in the StatBank under the subject Research and development, where the following tables with annual figures can be found:

  • FOUOFF01: R&D personnel in the public sector by sector, main scientific field, personnel category and gender
  • FOUOFF02: R&D full-time equivalents in the public sector by sector, main scientific field, personnel category and gender
  • FOUOFF03: R&D full-time equivalents in the public sector by purpose and discipline
  • FOUOFF04: R&D full-time equivalents (pct.) by purpose and sector
  • FOUOFF06: R&D full-time equivalents performed by personnel at higher education institutions under the Universities Act by institution and job category
  • FOUOFF07: R&D expenditure in the public sector by field and type of expenditure FOUOFF09: Externally financed R&D expenditure by sector, field and source of funding

Micro-data access

Researchers and other analysts from authorized research institutions, can be granted access to the underlying microdata by contacting Research Services.

Other

The results are available also on Eurostat and OECD websites.

Data Confidentiality Policy for Statistics Denmark is applied.

Confidentiality - data treatment

In principle information collected for statistics can only serve statistical dissemination. In the statistics published only information for the universities are on the individual level.

Quality documentation

Results from the quality evaluation of products and selected processes are available in detail for each statistics and in summary reports for the Working Group on Quality.
