Information on household consumption expenditure is published in StatBank under the subjects Economy and National Accounts. The releases are accompanied by Nyt fra Danmarks Statistik, which provides current perspectives and selected commentary.

User access
Statistics are always published at 8:00 a.m. at the day announced in the release calendar. No one outside of Statistics Denmark can access the statistics before they are published.
News release
The statistics on household consumption expenditure (HFCE) are published in Nyt fra Danmarks Statistik as part of the overall National Accounts. The National Accounts include the following series related to HFCE:
In total, these statistics appear in nine different Danish press releases, only available in Danish. The quarterly national accounts have eight press releases per year, while the the annual national account have one dedicated annual press release.
However, annual figures are published three times during the year, as they are first released in preliminary form alongside the quarterly releases. Some press releases therefore contain both quarterly figures and the first estimates of annual GDP and its components, including HFCE.
Publications
In the period from 1999 to 2011, as well as in 2014, the National Accounts - including household consumption expenditure, were published in the publication Nationalregnskab. A large number of National Accounts-related publications can be found in Statistics Denmark’s collection of historical statistics under Historical Statistics, including Statistiske Efterretninger for the period 1983–2022. The statistics are also presented in the ten-year overview, which has been published annually for the period 1964–2024.

Household final consumption expenditure is published in StatBank under the subject Economy. The tables covered by this documentation are included in the StatBank category National Accounts - Overall.

Micro-data access
More detailed data are available at a charge. It is possible to obtain data on product balances for household consumption expenditure at current and previous year prices, typically as data extracts — for example, a single product balance or the composition of goods within a consumption group.

Other
The national accounts provide table sets for household final consumption expenditure to Eurostat, ensuring that Denmark's national accounts figures are included in the Eurostat database. The figures are also made available via Eurostat to the OECD database.
A database of national accounts figures is additionally provided to ADAM, the macroeconomic model at Statistics Denmark. External users can, for a fee, gain access to the ADAM database.
Confidentiality - policy
Data Confidentiality Policy for Statistics Denmark is applied. Statistical confidentiality is ensured throughout the compilation process of household final consumption expenditure (HFCE). Confidential data primarily used in aggregated form during compilation. However, for quality assurance and validation purposes throughout compilation, access to more detailed micro-level data may be granted under controlled conditions. Data are not disseminated at any level where individual persons or enterprises can be identified.
Confidentiality - data treatment
The primary statistics included in the national accounts are subject to confidentiality procedures at source level to ensure that individual persons and enterprises cannot be identified.
These confidential data are fully taken into account in the compilation of national accounts. At the level at which households final consumption expenditure (HFCE) is published, data are aggregated to such an extent that confidentiality considerations are no longer relevant. Consequently, no additional confidentiality measures are required at the HFCE publication level.
