    Multiplier analysis

    As part of testing and analysing the model a set of , standard multipliers, , , first year effects,  and a , collection of examples, is presented with every model version. These give a broad overview of the analysis possibilities of ADAM. Multipliers are used to analyse the effects of economic and political changes.  A demand shock in ADAM affects both production, employment and consumption in the short run. In the long run the effect on employment disappears. In contrast, a supply shock will have a permanent effect on employment. This is in line with most models of small open economies with a fixed exchange rate policy and a Phillips curve. , In principle, there is no automatic monetary or fiscal policy reaction function in ADAM. This aspect should be taken into consideration in the comparison with other economic models. Furthermore the specific danish laws and rules modelled in ADAM could be important when comparing with models for other economies. , For every new model version a series of standard experiments are produced to enable the analysis of the model characteristics. At the same time, the experiments makes it possible to compare the characteristics of the new model version with previous ones. All multiplier analysis are based on a base line representing a solution with respect to the endogenous variables based on a stylized forecast of the exogenous variables. , standard multipliers,  are made by changing one or a few of the exogenous variables and afterward calculating the effect on the endogenous variables. , first year effects,  represents the short run. Focus is especially on fiscal policy and the characteristics are examined by comparing with the previous model version.,  ,

    How many cars are there in each household in the different postcodes and parishes?, Here you can get a simple count of how many cars each household has in all postcodes or parishes in Denmark. You can also see how it has evolved over time as the tables contain data for a 10-year period., Contents in the tables, There is 1 table distributed by postcodes and parishes, respectively, ie. 2 tables in total.     Bosnia-Herzegovina 2021-2023

    Statistics Denmark is implementing an EU-financed Twinning project in Bosnia and Herzegovina in cooperation with the national statistical institutions of Finland, Sweden and Italy.     Pan-African Statistics – PASII 2022-2025

    The Pan-African Statistics project is part of an EU funded programme counting two projects (SOCSTAF - Social Statistics and ECOBUSAF - Economic and Business Statistics) headed by Statistics Denmark and Statistics France (INSEE) respectively. The Danish-headed project focuses on support to producing official statistics within the social domains of education, health, and labour and counts consortium partners from the NSIs of France, Finland, Spain and Poland. , The aim of the Danish-led part of the project (SOCSTAF) is to support African integration through strengthening the African Statistical System and ensure the use of quality statistical data in the decision-making process and policy monitoring, in order to facilitate monitoring of societal progress in Africa, with a special focus on the social domain., The project is reinforcing the capacity of selected African national statistical offices in producing good quality social statistics in fields of health, education, and labour and thus contributing to the following three outputs:, Output 1: , Reliable, and, harmonized statistics are, collected and analyzed, based on international, standards recognized and, applied across the entire, African Statistical System, in a number of key sectors, relevant for African, integration (with, disaggregation by sex, age,, and disability where, relevant), Output 2: , Reliable, and, harmonized statistics are, disseminated to users and, used as evidence for, informed, decision-making., Output 3: , The institutional, capacity of the African, statistical system is, increased, at, national, level., Partner countries in Africa, Partner countries for Statistics Denmark under PASII are:, Senegal, Tunisia, Rwanda and South Africa.     Explore our portfolio of international projects for 2024, 26 March 2025 8:00 , By , Klaus Munch Haagensen, Our Annual Report 2024 takes stock of the activities and outcomes of all our international projects in International Consulting throughout the year., In 2024, the second phase of our Strategic Sector Cooperation (SSC) projects in Ghana and Morocco progressed further, while the SSC project in Vietnam concluded its first phase and prepared for Phase II in 2025. These projects are financed by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs., Our EU-funded projects remained active in Jordan, Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), and the Pan-African Statistics project (PAS II). Meanwhile, our project in the Turkish Cypriot Community, also funded by the EU, concluded in mid-2024. Detailed descriptions of all individual projects are available in the annual report., Beyond a summary of our major project achievements, the report features a special article on the importance of statistics in a development context. Statistics play a vital role in evidence-based decision-making, ensuring effective resource allocation, and promoting transparency and accountability. From tracking social progress to empowering citizens, statistical data is essential for shaping policies that drive real-world change., As part of the Framework Program for Phase II of the SSC, Statistics Denmark has launched a new initiative to support other Danish authorities in their development efforts through data and statistics. This initiative, called “SIAM”, is funded through the SSC program by the Danish MFA, with a budget of 4 million DKK for 2024-2027.     Pushing statistical production based on administrative data – on all levels., 22 August 2023 12:00 ,  , At the same time as Danish experts in Vietnam together with the General Statistical Office (GSO) worked on creating statistical indicators based on administrative micro data, an international conference on “Data ecosystem management, data governance, and data stewardship” took place. Participants were Vietnamese ministries, international institutions, representatives from the private sector and national statistical offices., The full day conference displayed experiences of data integration and cooperation between authorities for the production of high quality official statistics through presentations and discussions. Presentations were held by the national statistical offices of Denmark, Singapore, South Korea, Japan and Thailand. Likewise the international organizations ESCAP and UNFPA contributed with presentations., The conference ended in a lively discussion between the Vietnamese public institutions and the international participants. The conference is considered a valuable leverage to Statistics Denmark’s ongoing efforts to support the modernization and digitalization of the production of official statistics in Vietnam through the Strategic Sector Cooperation program financed by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs., You can read more about the SSC-project in Vietnam here.

    Data science team from Ghana wins UN Datathon 2023

    Data Science Team from Ghana got 1st Place overall and also the prizes for Best Youth Team, Best Visualization and Best Team from Sub-Saharan Africa., 22 January 2024 11:00 ,  , Competing against over 400 teams from all over the world, the GSS team got 1, st, Place overall and also the prize for Best Youth Team, Best Visualization and Best Team from Sub-Saharan Africa. The challenges at the Datathon was to create “an innovative data solution which tackles local sustainable development challenges”. The solution should accelerate progress towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals using open source data sets and have a geospatial element., The Data Science Team produced an interactive tool which provide decision-makers with information about school enrollment, access to electricity and access to information on a local level based on night light data sources and data from the 2021 Population and Housing Census. The Data Science Team of the GSS was formed in 2022 to strengthen the use of Data Science and ICT at the Ghana Statistical Services.
