    Since the first farm returns were reported for statistical purposes for the , financial year 1916-17, , Danish agriculture has lived through quite a few things., In the first year of the statistics, World War I implied that the countries at war experienced increased demand for e.g. food. As a result, Denmark, which did not participate in the war, was able to sell agricultural products at high prices.     Publication: ICT usage in households and by individuals - EU benchmark 2016

    This publication describes Europeans’ use of ICT in a broad perspective based on responses from a representative sample of citizens in Denmark and other EU Member States in 2016. Data was collected using a harmonised questionnaire that enables comparisons across countries., The survey describes the use of internet in general, including access to internet, use of e-commerce, social media, use of internet banking as well as online self-service. Various questions on ICT security and protection of personal infor­mation are dealt with in the last section of the publication., The statistics confirm the conclusion reached in other studies; Denmark is still among the EU front-runners in terms of ICT usage by citizens. This applies to e.g. online self-service, online shopping, use of internet banking and social net­working services., Highlights from this year’s survey:, Danes often , shop , on the , internet , At 83 per cent, the United Kingdom has the largest percentage of people who shop online, closely followed by Denmark in second place at 82 per cent. Online shopping in the EU is generally more common among men. The situation in Denmark is opposite. Danish women have overtaken men in shopping online., Danes best in the EU, at online self-service, Denmark leads the EU with regard to online self-service. A total of 88 per cent of Danes have visited public-authority websites, against the European average of 48 per cent for EU citizens. The percentage of Danes who submit completed forms to public authorities has doubled since 2008., 53m Europeans have never been online, 14 per cent of Europeans aged 16-74 are not online. This corresponds to around 53 million people.71 per cent of EU citizens are on the internet daily. The figure is 89 per cent in Denmark.     Publication: The business sector and the sustainable development goals - Denmark and neighbouring countries 2021

    In this publication the development of the Business sector in relation to selected SDG-goals in Denmark and 7 neighbouring countries are shown. Existing statistics in Eurostat, The European Union Statistical office, are used in the analyses. The developments on economic, environmental and social issues are followed for 14 groups of industries across country., Positive developments in all 8 countries in relation to the SDGs – only minor change, however, as regards gender equality in occupation and earnings, The results, mainly from 2010 to 2019, shows a positive trend in the Business sector in the contribution to fulfilment of the Sustainable Development Goals. In particular, this is the case in relation to emission of climate gasses, where all countries show improvement in the relation between emission and value added. This has, however, also been caused by domestic or European policies on the matter., Connected to the comparisons of the development in the indicators across country, also the differences in business structure are presented together with the actual size of indicators in 2010. The baseline and the room for change is necessary knowledge when assessing the development since. , Expenditures for R&D, relevant information in relation to change to improved sustainability in the Business sector has in general increased since 2010, as well in actual prices as related to the value added in the sector. Poland shows the highest increase, however from a low level, why a decrease in the indicator is the case for Denmark and Finland., A significant decrease in emission of climate gasses from business activities can been seen, as well in actual figures at related to value added. United Kingdom shows larges decrease independent of indicator, while Poland and Netherlands shows only low decrease. The overall figures from Norway is deviating from the general trend, maybe caused by insecurity in emission figures., The gender composition of the employees by type of industry show largely similar pictures in the countries, but also a slight tendency towards more equal composition. Germany and Poland has the highest share of women in the sector, while Norway and Sweden has the lowest share., Regarding gender pay gap, only a rough comparison for the business sector is possible. The figures, however, indicates that Germany and United Kingdom have the largest gender pay gap, while Poland, Sweden and Norway are more close to a situation where women get equal pay for equal  work., Exact references to the Eurostat database tables can be found in the publication. This makes it possible for everyone to make further calculations, for others countries or types of industry and also for the coming years.     Analyses: How the Danish consumption affects the world's natural resources

    The Danish consumption taps into the natural resources - not just domestically, but in major parts of the world. Our planet's resources are not infinite, and the focus on sustainability and pressure on resources is increasing., This analysis takes a closer look at the use of natural resources in the Danish economy and presents the results of the first assessment of the Danish resource footprint. The resource footprint is an attempt to account for the resources extracted from nature both in Denmark and abroad for the goods and services used in the Danish economy., Main conclusions: , Danish imports in 2016 weighed 63m tonnes. However, the production of imported goods and services is associated with an additional intermediate consumption of 70m and 21m tonnes respectively, so that total imports accounted for a resource footprint of approximately 154m tonnes in 2016., The weight of the goods exported from Denmark in 2016 was 38m tonnes, but behind the production of this was a total extraction of 102m tonnes of raw materials in Denmark and abroad. Moreover, the production of services for export required 35m tonnes of raw materials., Denmark’s resource footprint per capita is considerably bigger than the EU average. Our consumption and investments etc. required extraction of 22 tonnes of raw materials per capita, whereas the EU average was 14 tonnes., The Danish resource footprint has grown since 2013, but is lower than in 2008.
