Definition

The indicator is calculated by Statistics Denmark using data from the LFS which is the Danish contribution to the European Labour Force Survey. The unemployment rate is the number of unemployed persons compared to the entire workforce. This comparison has been made using gender and five age groups between the age of 15-64. A person is unemployed in the LFS when they fulfil three criteria: they are not in employment during a specific reference week, they have been actively seeking work within the past four weeks of the reference week and they are able to begin a new job within two weeks of the reference week. The workforce consists of all employed and unemployed persons. This indicator is based on the UN definition. It is not possible to list the number of people with disabilities, as Statistics Denmark does not have a sufficiently defined demarcation of persons with disabilities on a register basis.
