In connection with your use of Statistics Denmark’s web pages, we collect information about you. It is important for us that you feel comfortable using Statistics Denmark’s websites (including dst.dk and statistikbanken.dk and other domains that belong to Statistics Denmark; in the following referred to collectively as “our website”), and you must be informed of the data retrieved by Statistics Denmark and how Statistics Denmark is entitled to use your data. Accordingly, Statistics Denmark has prepared the below privacy policy.
Statistics Denmark has high security standards. We have procedures to ensure that we live up to these standards and comply with the requirements for appropriate security measures as stated in the legislation on personal data protection. We process personal data in accordance with Statistics Denmark’s general security measures, and Statistics Denmark is ISO27001 certified.
This privacy policy does not contain guidelines for Statistics Denmark’s data security and data confidentiality in relation to statistical output.

1. Information collected and processed when you visit our website
Purpose
Statistics Denmark collects information about your visit to our website in order to give you the best possible service.
Categories of personal data
When you visit our website, we register your IP address and keep it for six months. Your IP address is used only in connection with the operation of the website and for collection of visit statistics. For one thing, we make our own anonymised counting of visits based on IP addresses, and for another, we use the analysis tool Siteimprove for web analysis (see our cookie policy, which should be read together with this privacy policy).
Data receivers
To give you the best user experience, Statistics Denmark uses the analysis tool Siteimprove. Statistics Denmark has a data processor agreement with Siteimprove, which means that information must not be disclosed to others, but be used only to improve our website.
2. Data we collect when you subscribe to news
General news from Statistics Denmark:
Purpose
When you subscribe to our news in the form of newsletters, blog posts or press releases, we process your personal data to be able to send you relevant news.
Categories of personal data
The data we collect is your email address. In case you register for a blog, we also collect your name and user type — the latter for the purpose of user statistics.
Personal data receivers
Statistics Denmark does not disclose your personal data to third parties. If you subscribe to Statistics Denmark’s press releases, your email address will be stored with Ritzau, who puts out the press releases. Statistics Denmark has a data processor agreement with Ritzau.
How we get your data
We get your personal data from you, when you subscribe to our news.
How long we store your data
Statistics Denmark stores your personal data for as long as we have your consent. You are entitled to withdraw your consent at any time. You can do so by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of your email news. If it comes to the attention of Statistics Denmark that collected information is incorrect or misleading, Statistics Denmark will delete or correct the relevant information.
Newsletters regarding products and services against payment:
Purpose
We collect and process your personal data to be able to distribute the newsletters Nyt fra DST Consulting, Kursusnyt and Newsletter on International Consulting.
Categories of personal data
The data we collect is your name and email address. In addition, we register data such as your IP address and browser type etc. for statistical purposes. We do not use the data for any other purposes and do not disclose it to third parties. Further, we seek data on your company or organisation. It is optional for you to enter this information.
Personal data receivers
The subscription forms for our news by email are handled through a cloud-based add-on for our customer relations management system. This add-on is hosted by ClickDimensions, who has access to your name, business name and email address. Clickdimensions’ processing of Statistics Denmark customer data may involve transfer of data to the USA, which is covered by the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield framework agreement, and to Israel, which is covered by EU Directive 95/46/EC.
How we get your data
We get your personal data from you, when you subscribe to our newsletters: Perspektiv, Nyt fra DST Consulting, Kursusnyt and Newsletter on International Consulting.
In this way, your subscription, i.e. your consent, constitutes the legal basis for our processing of your personal data (the legal framework is Article 6, paragraph 1(b) of the General Data Protection Regulation).
How long we store your data
Statistics Denmark stores your personal data for as long as we have your consent. You are entitled to withdraw your consent at any time. You can do so by unsubscribing to the newsletter. 3. Data we collect when you create a user profile in Statbank Denmark
Purpose
Statistics Denmark collects and processes personal data that you enter at the Statbank Denmark website when creating a user profile.
We collect the data, so that we can communicate with you regarding errors or changes in a set of statistics that you use.
Categories of personal data
The data we collect is: Name, email address and user category. Furthermore, you can provide optional information about: telephone number, business name, address, postcode, city and country. When you purchase data from the Online Payment Data Bank, we ask for information about: telephone number, business name, address, postcode, city, country, CVR number and EAN number. In addition, Statistics Denmark stores data on the table extractions you have saved. If your user profile is created in a business context, you also accept that your employer has a right to transfer your profile to another employee, e.g. if you change your place of work.

We get your personal data from you, when you create a profile.
How long we store your data
Data collected in connection with creation of a user profile is deleted automatically if the user profile has not been used for 13 months. If it comes to the attention of Statistics Denmark that collected information is incorrect or misleading, Statistics Denmark will delete or correct the relevant information.
4. Data we collect when you register as a reader with Statistics Denmark’s library
Purpose
Statistics Denmark collects and processes personal data that you provide in connection with your creation of a registered reader profile with Statistics Denmark’s library. We collect the data so that we can communicate with you regarding lending of library materials.
Categories of personal data
The data we collect is: name, address, email address, civil registration number, while libraries are registered with a library number.

Statistics Denmark does not disclose your personal data to third parties.
How we get your data
We get your personal data from you, when you register as a reader.
How long we store your data
You can deregister as a reader with Statistics Denmark’s library at any time. You will automatically be deleted from the register of readers, if you have not borrowed any material for one year.
5. Data we collect when you contact various support services
Purpose
Statistics Denmark collects and processes personal data that you enter at the Statbank Denmark website, write in an email/letter or state by telephone in relation to your contact with our support services.
Statistics Denmark has the following support services:
- Information service and library
- Support for business data reporting
- Special data extractions for the press and registration of press contact
Categories of personal data
Statistics Denmark collects the following personal data, depending on the form of inquiry: Name, media, email, user type, telephone and, if relevant, municipality of residence.

How we get your data
We get your personal data from you, when you contact our support services.
How long we store your data
Statistics Denmark stores your inquiry for five years, after which it is deleted. You can have your inquiry deleted after one year, if you wish.
We store data from your reporting for as long as it may be relevant in relation to our core service, which is data collection. The data is stored in a central reporting system (IBS). We do so to ensure good and direct communication about previous, outstanding, current and future reporting.
In addition, we save your data to be able to produce user statistics and to support internal knowledge sharing.
6. Statistics Denmark on social media
Statistics Denmark is on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, each of which has its own privacy policy. We encourage you to read their privacy policies before you use these media.

7. Data we collect when you are a customer
Purpose
When you contact us as a customer or prospective customer to inquire about services or assignments, we process your personal data and your business data for the purpose of preparing offers and delivering and invoicing services in accordance with any agreement entered. In this way, the agreement is the legal basis for our processing of your data (the legal framework is Article 6, paragraph 1(b) of the General Data Protection Regulation).
Categories of personal data
We process your contact data and professional data, including your name, occupation, telephone number, email and your business data. In addition, we register data such as your IP address and browser type etc. for statistical purposes. We do not use the data for any other purposes and do not disclose it to third parties.
Receivers of the data
We use Navision Stat (the Agency for Public Finance and Management) to invoice the provided services, which will consequently receive the name, CVR number, EAN number (if relevant) and address of your business as well as your name.
All forms for ordering products and assignments at dst.dk/tilsalg are handled through a cloud-based add-on for our customer relations management system. How we get your data
We primarily receive the personal data that we process from you. If you receive our newsletter, and if you are already a customer, Statistics Denmark may link the data.
How long we store your data
For accounting purposes, we store your data and your business data for five years in accordance with the Danish Bookkeeping Act when you buy services from Statistics Denmark. Should your inquiry not lead to invoicing of a specific service, we typically store your data and your business data for 1-2 years for the purpose of any later consulting.

8. Your rights
In accordance with the legislation on the protection of personal data, you have the following rights:
- To extensively acquire knowledge about the personal data we process on you.
- To object to the collection and further processing of your personal data.
- To have your personal data revised and to limit our processing of your personal data.
- In certain cases, to have your personal data deleted.
- In certain cases, to request a copy of your personal data.
