The statistics are considered an important input for the calculation of the agricultural sector accounts, the national accounts, and the EU Farm Sustainability Data Network (FSDN). The statistics have been compiled since 1916, but in their current form they are comparable from 2008 onwards., Statistical presentation, The Farm Account Statistics for Agriculture is an annual statistic describing the economy of Danish agricultural and horticultural holdings through detailed accounting items such as turnover, purchases, costs, operating result of the year, assets, liabilities and investments,, as well as key financial indicators. In addition, the statistics include information on household finances, including income outside agriculture, taxes paid and private consumption. The statistics cover holdings with a standard output of at least EUR 25,000 and are broken down by full-time and part-time holdings, farm types, conventional and organic production, and geographical areas such as regions and parts of the country., Read more about statistical presentation, Statistical processing, Data for these statistics are collected annually from farm accounts submitted by accounting offices and private accountants and are supplemented with data from various administrative registers. The data are collected electronically and undergo extensive validation procedures. Holdings are classified according to economic size and type of farming based on their Standard Output (SO), which is calculated for all crop and livestock types as the average actual output per unit (hectare or animal) over a five-year reference period. After validation, the sample is weighted to represent the target population and the final statistics are compiled., Read more about statistical processing, Relevance, These statistics are relevant to Ministries, researchers and agricultural organizations to measure the income of agricultural holdings. The data collection fulfils Denmark's obligations under the EU Farm Sustainability Data Network (FSDN)., Read more about relevance, Accuracy and reliability, The sample covers all holdings in the target population with a Standard Output (SO) of at least EUR 25,000. Sampling uncertainty is reduced by selecting relatively more large holdings, where variability is greater, and relatively fewer small holdings. Potential sources of uncertainty include voluntary participation and differences in accounting periods, although both are considered to have only a limited impact on overall accuracy. Standard errors and coefficients of variation are calculated for four key variables across 22 groups of holdings. Expected non-response is taken into account by increasing the sampling rate in strata where higher non-response has been observed, Read more about accuracy and reliability, Timeliness and punctuality, The statistics are published 7–10 months after the end of the reference year. Since the 2015 reference year, preliminary results for agriculture have been published in early July., Read more about timeliness and punctuality, Comparability, The statistics are comparable back to 2008, where data have been calculated on the basis of Standard Output., The statistics are partly comparable with data from SEGES (Danish agricultural advisory service), which compiles economic key figures for different types of farming. The agricultural statistics, however, are much older than that with figures for number of farms, livestock, crops etc. going back to around 1900. , Statistical presentation, The farm structure statistics are yearly and include figures on number of farms, livestock, crops and technology distributed by for instance size and geography. The statistics are published "Nyt fra Danmarks Statistik (News from Statistics Denmark) and in the statbank., Read more about statistical presentation, Statistical processing, The information is collected by means of a yearly questionnaire based survey where the farmers complete the questionnaire online. The answers are validated for non probable values., Information on crops and cattle is collected from registers, and is thereby not reported by every single farmer. , The survey is a sample survey stratified by region, size and type of farming., Read more about statistical processing, Relevance, The statistics fulfill a need for structural information on the Danish agriculture, e.g. number of farms by size and region. Important users are EU, the ministries and agricultural organizations., Read more about relevance, Accuracy and reliability, The precision varies for the different items of the statistics. The precision is thus highest for the total agricultural area and less precise for specific crops, especially crops grown by only few farmers. Likewise the precision is best for livestock which many farmers have. This is in particular true for cattle. In the same way the uncertainty is high for small geographical units, e.g. Bornholm., Read more about accuracy and reliability, Timeliness and punctuality, The survey is published about 9-12 after the survey day. This difference is due to the fact that survey varies in size from year to year, both with respect to the questionnaire and the sample size., Read more about timeliness and punctuality, Comparability, The survey is almost comparable from 1982 onwards. There is also a high degree of comparability with other European countries. Between 2009 and 2010 there is, however, a small break in the comparability since the statistics from 2010 onwards includes a number of small farms and additionally farms with fur animals. It means that the number of farms in 2010 is about 1.200 bigger than it otherwise would have been., From around 1900 to 1981 the statistical surveys also included very small farms with an area of only hectares. These figures are available for the users in paper publications, but not online. , Read more about comparability, Accessibility and clarity, The survey is published here: Online, http://www.Statbank.dk, New from Statistics and in the analyses of Statistics Denmark, see this analyse on [Analyse]https://www.dst.dk/da/Statistik/Analyser/visanalyse?cid=29376 , Read more about accessibility and clarity

Culture is broadly defined, as the survey covers habits within the topics of culture, media and recreational activities, e.g. concerts, performing arts, cinema, literature, exercise, digital games and hobbies. The survey has been carried out regularly since 1964. Statistics Denmark has carried out the survey from 2018-2023 and in 2024-, while previous surveys have been carried out by the Ministry of Culture. The survey has been carried out with a new questionnaire since the first quarter of 2024, and is therefore not directly comparable with previous versions., Statistical presentation, The Cultural Habits Survey is an interview based quarterly survey among a random sample of Danish residents 16 years or older, which documents the consumption of cultural and recreational activities. The consumption of these activities may occur both in Denmark and abroad. The cultural consumption is grouped in various statistics by i.a. age, gender, education and degree of urbanisation. The current Cultural Habits Survey is ongoing and was first collected in the first quarter of 2024. The survey is communicated in Danish language press releases and in StatBank Denmark., Read more about statistical presentation, Statistical processing, The Cultural Habits Survey is an interview based quarterly survey among a random sample. The survey is carried out by both computer-assisted web interviews (CAWI) and computer-assisted telephone interviews (CATI). Approximately 4,800 responses are collected each quarter. The questionnaire is divided into a general part answered by all participants and four sub-parts, each answered by roughly a fourth of the respondents surveyed via CAWI. Using demographic information from Statistics Denmark's register of the Danish population, the respondents are weighted to compensate for non-response. Data is inspected for errors. A yearly dataset is compiled by the combination of the data for each quarter of the year., Read more about statistical processing, Relevance, The Cultural Habits Survey is carried out and developed in close cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and is the ninth in the series of the cultural habits of Danish residents carried out since 1964. The current survey accommodates a series of user needs, among which are more frequent statistics, the possibility for investigating geographic variation and the surveying of a broader definition of culture. The user needs have been identified through a thorough assessment of the Cultural Habits Survey 2018-2023. The assessment comprised the Ministry of Culture, researchers and users from public institutions., Read more about relevance, Accuracy and reliability, The Cultural Habits Survey is based on approximately 4,800 responses per quarter, which is a robust amount of data, contributing to lessening the sampling error. The error of the estimates are further reduced by the use of a mixed mode of data collection and multiple attempts at contacting each respondent. The error is however significantly greater for those questions which are part of the four sub-parts as these are each based on an amount of data roughly one fourth the size of the total amount., Read more about accuracy and reliability, Timeliness and punctuality, The statistics are published two months after the end of the reference period. The statistics are published without delay compared to scheduled publishing times., The statistic on membership for youth and outdoor activities organisations is published yearly in June, with data for the preceding year., Read more about timeliness and punctuality, Comparability, The survey has been carried out since 1964, but is in its current form only comparable with earlier versions to a limited degree. This is partly due to societal and technological changes and partly due to changes in the needs of users which has resulted in major revisions of the questionnaire in 2018 and 2024. The questionnaire is developed according to UN guidelines and is therefore partly comparable to statistics from other countries, among these the Nordic countries and EU countries., Read more about comparability, Accessibility and clarity, The statistics are published in a , Danish press release, . Social protection encompasses a society’s interventions intended to relieve individuals and households of the financial burden of a defined set of risks or needs, e.g. illness. The statistics provide an overview of the development in expenditures related to social protection in Denmark and can be used to compare the level of social protection internationally. The statistics have been compiled since 2007 and are based on a European statistics system., Statistical presentation, The statistics are an annual statement of expenditures on benefits connected to social protection assessed in DKK million. Social benefits are benefits intended to relieve households and individuals of the financial burden of a defined set of risks or needs, e.g. illness or unemployment. The statement includes both cash benefits and benefits in kind (e.g. free health care services). The statistics are divided into eight main areas and includes the whole of Denmark as well as some Danish pensioners abroad. The benefits include both public and private expenses., Read more about statistical presentation, Statistical processing, The data for this statistic is collected yearly via the main sources: central and local accounts. It is supplemented with internal data deliveries from insurance- and pensions subsectors, application matrixes, hours and days of absence from work, and an external data delivery on tax rates used for enumerating the statistic from the Ministry of Finance., The collected data is validated via removal of potential errors, coding, and treatment processes leading to the final result, which, amongst other things, demands reviews and quality assurance of codes, expenditures and developments over time., Read more about statistical processing, Relevance, Data on social expenditure is in big demand from international organizations, e.g. from Eurostat and Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion (DG EMPL)., Read more about relevance, Accuracy and reliability, This statistic is based on the statistic for General Government Finances, and is relevant for users interested in expenditures connected to social protection (expenditures linked to education are excluded from this statistic)., The statistic is published on a yearly basis and is revised two years back in time in every production, which ensures consistency and transparency in the data., In regards to possible uncertainties, the level of the total social expenditures to be slightly underestimated., Read more about accuracy and reliability, Timeliness and punctuality, The statistics are published annually, approximately 10 months after the end of the calendar year. KAS is an averaging of the populations affiliation to the labour market per quarter and per year and is published annually. KAS covers the hole population from 2017 and on, while it covers the employed part of the population 1st. - 4th. quarter from 2008 to 2017. , Statistical presentation, The Quarterly Labour Market Status (KAS) is an annually individual-based averaging which is calculating the Danish population's affiliation to the labour market per quarter and per year. The statistic is among other things also distributed on information about demography and information about the work place for employees. The statistic is published in StatBank Denmark., Read more about statistical presentation, Statistical processing, The quarterly labour force statistic is based on the Labour Market Account (LMA) which is a longitudinal register. LMA contains information about the populations primary attachment to the labour market on every day of the year. KAS is an average calculation of the population's primary attachment to the labour market broken down by quarters and years. If a person is employed for 91 days in a quarter of 91 days, that person counts as 1 employed. If a person is employed for 30 days, unemployed for 15 days and in education for 46 days, that person counts as 30/91 employed, 15/91 unemployed and 46/91 in education in the quarter. , Read more about statistical processing, Relevance, The quarterly labour force statistic (KAS) is primarily used to structural analysis of the labour market, because the statistic has a very detailed level of information. The statistic is therefore relevant to external as well as internal users and as foundation for analyzing the populations employment over the year. , Read more about relevance, Accuracy and reliability, KAS is an average calculation of the populations primary attachment to the labour market, and the statistic uses the Labour Market Account (LMA) as data source. KAS does not have the same uncertainties as statistics based on surveys. KAS is produced by using a wide range of data sources which are integrated, corrected, and harmonized, and can therefore measure the populations attachment to the labour market significantly better than the single statistics can. , Read more about accuracy and reliability, Timeliness and punctuality, From the publication of figures for the end of November 2018 onwards, the release is carried out in two stages. In the first release, persons outside the labor force are grouped together in a single category. This publication takes place approximately 11 months after the reference point. In the second publication, which occurs approximately 15 months after the reference point, persons outside the labor force are divided into different socioeconomic groups., Read more about timeliness and punctuality, Comparability, The statistics were first published in 2018 with data for employed persons in the first to fourth quarters of 2008-2016. With the exception of a change in the occupational classification in 2010, the statistics for employed persons are comparable throughout the period 2008-2016. From 2017, in addition to persons in employment, the statistics also include the rest of the population with information about their primary attachment to the labour market. KAS is based on administrative registers with national characteristics, which makes it difficult to compare the statistics internationally. , Read more about comparability, Accessibility and clarity, The statistics are published in the StatBank under , Quarterly employed persons, ., Read more about accessibility and clarity

The statistics have been compiled since 1995, but in 2017 changed data source. Since 2017, data from ATP / Udbetaling Danmark's IT system for the administration of payment of parental benefits in connection with birth, adoption, child illness etc., Statistical presentation, Childbirth allowance annually calculate a parent's year's use of the rights the Maternity Act gives them, and the distribution of parental leave between the father and mother, as well as the number of persons, and days on benefits. Furthermore, the statistics provide the data basis for calculating amounts paid out in connection with childbirth. , Read more about statistical presentation, Statistical processing, The data basis of the statistics is based on monthly total extractions from central tables in the database for ATP/Udbetaling Danmark's administrative IT system, UDK-Barsel, and a delta extraction from a payment table, which is very large. Selected variables from these extractions are merged into a single table that constitutes a longitudinal register, the Barselsdagpenge Register, with a well-defined record structure, which is created quarterly. The Barselsstatistik Register is formed annually by combining the Barselsdagpenge Register with an extract from the Population Register and other Danish Statistics registers., Read more about statistical processing, Relevance, The maternity and paternity leave part of the statistic is used by ministries for reasons of gender equality policy and of the unions and the employers' organizations in connection with collective bargaining agreements. The statistics are included as an important data element concerning analyzes of the productivity of the Danish workforce (economic model calculations), the labor market accounts, the statistics statistics on Public dependents and the absence statistics, Read more about relevance, Accuracy and reliability, The statistics summarize the reports of birth or adoption that have triggered the payment of due to maternity leave. The expectation is that all cases are reported. However, there are a number of cases that will only be reported long after the end of the year to which the case relates, why the last year is not fully updated. In order to get a picture of a parent's year's use of the maternity law, it has been necessary to link several registers and set up an algorithm for calculating the parents' entitlement. There is a risk of programming errors here, just as the algorithm rules are a choice., Read more about accuracy and reliability, Timeliness and punctuality, These statistics are published annually three months after the reference year in March-April. March-April is chosen as the compromise of current interest and waiting for the last reports of the year to appear. , Read more about timeliness and punctuality, Comparability, The statistics are influenced by local Danish legislation, which makes comparison with similar statistics from other countries difficult. In addition, maternity leave can be calculated in (at least) 18 different ways, which is why it requires a good knowledge of the documentation for countries' calculation methods before comparing their figures. At the moment, the statistics cover data for the years 2015-2023, where no data breach has been detected, with the exception that the 1st quarter of 2015 is under-updated, which gives a minor data breach for total counts., Read more about comparability, Accessibility and clarity, These statistics are published yearly in a Danish press release, at the same time as tables are updated in the StatBank. The statistics is based on information on value added tax (VAT) reported by the enterprises to the Danish Tax Authorities. , The statistics is compiled and disseminated monthly and provides a short-term status of Danish business economy. The statistics have been published with variation in calculation methods and frequencies, since value added tax (VAT) was introduces in Denmark in 1967. In its current form, the statistics is comparable from 2011 onwards., Statistical presentation, Purchases and sales by enterprises is a monthly statement of purchases and sales of goods and services. The Statement is calculated in millions (Danish kroner). The statement is calculated at industry level defined in the Danish Industrial Classification of All Economic Activities 2007 (DB07). In addition, the statistics are divided into domestic purchases and sales. , Read more about statistical presentation, Statistical processing, Data originates from the Danish Tax Agency’s VAT registers plus information from the Central Business Register (CVR). Missing reports are replaced with imputed values, which are values estimated for each missing report. Imputed values are provisional and removed when the enterprise has reported VAT to the Tax Agency or the enterprise's business status in the CVR register is updated as inactive. The report follows the enterprise's main industry. , Read more about statistical processing, Relevance, Users of the statistics are ministries, researchers, students and organizations. Used for e.g. analysis of business trends and market research. In Statistics Denmark, the statistic provides supporting information to e.g. the National Accounts and statistics on foreign trade. Data contribute to the Danish compliance with requirements in the European business statistics regulation regarding turnover on industries on service and trade. In order to comply with requirements, monthly turnover must be distributed to Kind of Activity Units (KAU). A model is used to split legal units into KAU. , Read more about relevance, Accuracy and reliability, The statistics is based on VAT, reported by enterprises to the Tax Agency. The precision is strengthened by the fact that all companies subject to VAT are included. It is weakened by too little information sales not subject to VAT, e.g. train tickets and recycled clothes. The reliability increases as the enterprises report and revise values. It's possible to revise up to three years after submission. Values are considered final after three years. The sales are used as an estimate for turnover. Please notes that turnover includes more than sales, e.g. revenue from investments., Read more about accuracy and reliability, Timeliness and punctuality, The statistics are published approximate 40 days after the end of the reference period. The statistics contain a statement of sales that are subject to VAT. A statement of an enterprise's sales subject to VAT can be used as an estimate of the enterprise's turnover, which is why the statistics are used for short-term statistics on turnover. The publication date is announced at least 6 months in advance, and it is rare that a publication of the statistics is delayed. , Read more about timeliness and punctuality, Comparability, From 2010, the statistics are based on register data, the information on VAT that enterprise report to the Tax Agency. From the year 2010, data is comparable year to year, as it includes all enterprises that report VAT. The variable "salg i alt" can be used as estimate for the enterprises' net turnover and can be compared with the net turnover in other statistics, e.g. General Enterprise Statistics. When comparing, take into account the differences, for example which types of sales or revenue are included, whether excise duties are included, and whether smaller companies are included. , Read more about comparability, Accessibility and clarity, The statistics are published on the webpage , StatBank Denmark, under the topic Purchases and sales by Enterprises.
