Definition

SDG indicator 14.b.1 measures the extent to which a country has legal, policy and institutional frameworks in place to ensure that small-scale fishers have access to marine resources and markets. It assesses whether small-scale fishers' rights are recognized, whether they can participate in fisheries management, and whether they have fair opportunities to access and benefit from markets. Denmark achieved the highest possible score of 5 out of 5 in both 2022 and 2024, indicating a high level of implementation of measures that support small-scale fishers' access to resources and markets.
