Name:

DEGURBA - Danmarks Statistik vers 1.0

Description:

In addition to EUROSTAT's DEGURBA variable, Statistics Denmark has taken a subdivision. Intermediate density area and Thinly populated area are thus (for use in Danish context) subdivided by the largest city in the municipality cf. below:

  • 1."Densely populated area"
  • 2. "Intermediate density area", the largest city in the municipality at least 40,000 inhabitants
  • 3. "Intermediate density area", the largest city in the municipality under 40,000 inhabitants and at least 15,000 inhabitants in the largest city
  • 33. "Intermediate density area" with less than 15,000 inhabitants in the largest city
  • 4. "Thinly populated area", largest city in the municipality at least 15,000 inhabitants
  • 5. "Thinly populated area", largest city in the municipality under 15,000 inhabitants

In the event that the municipality's largest city is spread over several municipalities (eg Birkerød), only the persons living in the municipality are included in the determination of the municipality's largest city.
