Fishery and aquaculture

Fishery is a part of the primary sector of the economy. The Danish fishery is, along with the rest of Europe, subject to quotas. The purpose of these quotas are to protect and uphold a certain level of the fish stock in the sea. Development projects that can contribute to a sustainable ecosystem are supported financially by The Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries

Dansk akvakultur - vækst, udfordringer og beskæftigelse

Akvakultursektoren er verdens hurtigst voksende animalske fødevareproduktion. Store vækstrater i særligt Asien har medført, at der i dag på verdensplan produceres flere fisk i akvakultur, end der fanges i det traditionelle fiskeri.
