Call for abstracts

You are invited to submit an abstract for a paper. You can submit an abstract as the sole author or as part of a joint authorship. Priority will be given to joint Nordic papers, e.g describing Nordic cooperation within specific statistical areas or comparative analyses of Nordic practice.

The deadline for the submission of an abstract is February 3rd. After this date, the theme leaders will select which abstracts to accept and put together a program. As part of this process the theme leaders may contact some authors with suggestions for alterations of their suggested paper. On March 13th all authors will be given information on whether their abstract is selected or not.

If an abstract is selected the author(s) must submit a draft version of their paper by May 15th, and a final version by June 28th. During this period there may be some iterations depending on feedback from the theme leaders. But remember that the important requirements are that the paper is short, concise and fits well into the theme.

The final deadline for the presentation is August 10th. There is no requirement to submit a draft version of this.

Instruction for authors

Abstracts

An abstract is a short summary of your paper. A well written abstract serves the purpose of: 1) communicating the context, results and conclusion of your paper to the reader, 2) giving the reader enough information to decide if to read the whole paper and 3) helping the reader remember the highlights of your paper.

The abstract should include no more than 300 words. Remember to write the abstract in English. Please avoid jargon and explain all abbreviations. Try to use short and simple sentences. A good abstract underlines the results, findings and observations. Try to explain why the topic and the results are relevant: What kind of impact have the results had on your work? Can the results be copied and implemented in other countries? What can the statistical community learn from your experiences? And remember to indicate which theme the abstract is submitted to.

Please use the template for your abstracts that you can download by pressing here.

If you need any help with your abstracts, you can contact the theme leader as listed below:

Please end your abstract with 1-5 key words. Your abstracts is to be send to nsm26@dst.dk

Papers

An author for the NSM2026 is expected to write a paper and prepare a presentation to be delivered at the conference. There will be a maximum of 15 minutes allocated to each presentation.

The paper is to be submitted the 28th of June at the latest. Please use the NSM2026 template. It is recommended that the paper is short and concise, and not longer than 6 pages + 2 pages for title page and a list of references. This is a maximum limit. Please make sure that the paper has a clear structure and is easy to understand for any interested employee in the NSOs.

The presentation should be supported by a powerpoint document or a similar format. Please make sure that the presentation is clear and that the number of pages/slides fits the time slot.
