Interest and share price indices

The interest and share price indices show the development on the money and capital market. This includes the development both on the stock markets as well as the interest rates.

Introduction

The stock market includes the big share indices on OMX Nordic Copenhagen

  • OMXC20 includes the 20 most trades shares
  • OMXC covers all shares listed on OMX Nordic Copenhagen
  • Midcap includes all medium size businesses
  • Smallcap includes all small businesses

Short-term rates reflect interest covering periods up to 1 year. The very short-term rates are set by the Central Bank in order to comply with the fix exchange rate to the Euro. The slightly longer-term rates, known as money market rates, are particularly used by financial institutions when they borrow money internally.

Long-term yields reflect interest rates, which cover a period longer than 1 year. It is typical interest on bonds including both government and mortgage bonds.
