1 Contents


1.1 Description of Contents
The statistics describe the Danish populations participation in adult education and continuing training which means formal out-of-office courses/programs which is financed, planned and controlled by a public provider.

1.2 Statistical Concepts
Population:
All participants under adult education and continuing training which means formal out-of-office courses/programs which is financed, planned and controlled by a public provider.

Units:
i. Persons.

ii. Participants
A participant is a person on a course/program on a institution.

iii. Full-time equvivalents.
Full-time equvivalents is a measure of volume.

Variables:
The most important variables are CPR-number, education, course/program, date of beginning, date of end, volume, institution.

Classifications:
Due to classification after education as well as course/program its possible to use standard classifications as ISCED.


2 Time


2.1 Reference Period
A course/program can be connected to different reference periods. More and more often the finance year is used.

2.2 Date of Publication
First quarter of the year.

2.3 Punctuality
The punctuality differs mainly due to delay of delivery.

2.4 Frequency
Annual statistics.


3 Accuracy


3.1 Overall accuracy
Because of the use of administrative registers and the attached auditing the overall accuracy is high.

3.2 Sources of inaccuracy
The far most important source of inaccuracy is insufficient registrations.

3.3 Measures on accuracy
Has not been measured. Comparisions regarding economic equvivalents can be done under certain circumstances.


4 Comparability


4.1 Comparability over Time
As long as ministerial regulations on educations do not change from one year to the next, comparability over time is high. Because of the heavy use of Classifications comparability is high on the level of the educations which is higher than courses/programs.

4.2 Comparability with other Statistics
The comparability with other statistics is high due to the use of common Classifications.

4.3 Coherence between provisional and final statistics
Provisional results are not compiled.

5.1 Forms of dissemination
The statistics are published on the Internet from Statbank Denmark.

5.2 Basic material: Storage and usability
The statistics are individually based statistics stored in a register.
